2yr old speckled Sussex sneezing and raspy breathing.

She was fine yesterday and today wheezing and sneezing. Can chickens get upper respiratory infection? Puffed up, no nasal discharge.
How is she doing?
Have you added any new chickens to your flock recently?
Can you take a look inside her beak for any obstruction, stuck food, canker or sores?
How long have you had her?

If you have photos or a video of her breathing that would be good (upload videos to youtube and provide a link).

Chickens can have respiratory infections - diseases like Infectious Bronchitis, Mycoplasma, Infectious Coryza and ILT are some of the more common ones.

Some environmental causes are mold and poor ventilation in coops.

Had her since she was a day old. No new hens or chicks. Only have 4 hens . We put her in a dog kennel in the bedroom. Other 3 are fine. She’s 2 and hasn’t laid in a year. Her breathing is faster but ate some cantaloupe and scratch. Congestion seems better. Sits with tail real high. Abdomen feels a little swollen. No mucous discharge. Don’t know how to upload the videos. When I try to upload a file it says it’s too big.

Thank you so much for the link. I think it’s ascites. Gurgling goes away when we don’t hold her.

For video you have to upload to youtube or similar platform and provide a link. The BYC upload does not work at all.

If her abdomen feels a bit swollen and she has not laid in a year, I would agree with you that she is likely suffering from a reproductive problem. Internal Laying, Egg Yolk Peritonitis, cancer, tumors and Salpingitis can be common in laying hens. Ascites (fluid in the abdomen) can accompany and complicate any of these conditions.
Some people drain the fluid to give the hen relief and offer supportive care, sometimes the effects are short lived and it needs to be repeated. You do run the risk of infection anytime you drain.
Seeking vet care is always best if that's an option for you.

Here's a video that you may find helpful. Please keep us posted.
