I recently rescued a mature green head drake, and already have 3 mature hens. A barred rock, rode island red and a Wyandotte. My Drake just roams alone all day, should I get him a friend? Should it be female if possible? A chick? Can I introduce at 6 weeks? Lots of questions, help!

Yes if it were me l would get him a friend a female would be the best for him, if possible l would get one over 1/2 a year old but younger would be ok but you would have to be care full seeing as a youngster could led get hart if he breeds her and that season is just around the corner

How old is your drake? He may start to seek mating opportunities with the hens, which can be dangerous to the girls.

He's well over a year, do you think I should get a female older than 6 months like stated above? Do you think they will get along? any breed recommendations? Eggs are great but mainly for just a pet: )

I'd get him 2 females because drake get very over zealous with mating and having just one female would be very rough on her. And do watch him with your hens[chickens] drakes can kill them if they mate them.

If he is a mallard I would get him one female mallard. Not sure what a green head is

He looks like a mallard but a bit bigger. Maybe he is a mix? Mallads will pair up so I'd try with one girl first. But what breed I don't know
