I have 6 polish bantams total. 3 of them are breathing heavy and sneezing. I bought a broad spectrum antibiotic and gave it to them yesterday. Today they don't look any better. I'm not sure what to do since this is my first time owning chickens. Is there anything else I should be doing to help them recover? How do I know if this is cocci or something else?

Are they chicks and in a brooder? Panting in brooder is sign of too hot. Once outside if there is going to be a problem with cocci due to density in your soil it will show up sooner than later. If these are older birds without heat and been in pen/area for some time then I'd be concerned. Some of the respiratory diseases the birds become carriers after symptoms are cured.

They are still in a brooder without the heat. I have taken them ouside a few times for about 15 mins to get them used to their pen and the other chickens.they aren't panting. I can tell their breathing is labored because of their tails. I can also hear them sneezing/coughing. That was the first thing I noticed. It sounds like sinus. They were starting to lay around more too. Now after a day with the antibiotics they look like they might be moving around a bit more. It could just be wishful thinking. My favorite is the most sick. I love them and don't want them to die. Before the antibiotics I had them on probiotics and electrolytes. Wasn't sure if they can have those at the same time as the antibiotics? So far no blood in the poop so I hoping not cocci?

Also I plan on keeping a closed flock and just building another coop down the road for my breeders.. :(
