3 males 1 female please help

Last year I got two Pekin ducks turned out 1 male 1 female they were best buddies, once they reached maturity I realized my girl was getting beat up due to constant mating. I new it was time to get more ducks . Several months ago I got two Cayuga ducklings after some time has gone by I now have two more males! I know this is going to lead to trouble . Has anyone ever had an all drake flock ? Can I put my one female Pekin with my all female chicken flock please help !

You can have a separate all Drake flock, but your female needs to be with other female ducks. Chickens simply won't do, ducks need their own to bond with.

I would put your duck hen in the chicken flock - understand she may not be happy for a while, but three drakes can seriously injure her. In all drake flocks there is generally seasonal fighting, and sometimes one drake may become the 'target' of the other drakes and they may mate/attempt to mate him.

Ok I certainly don’t want unhappy ducks I just don’t know how to go about rehoming her if that is was best . I don’t have the space for anymore ducks or willing to take the risk of more males

i would keep her with the calmest drake if i were you, no matter what ducks need other ducks. not chickens or any other animal is the same as having another duck.

i have 3 drakes and 1 hen too. her and one drake stay together and are best friends, they are separated from my other two drakes. those two drakes are best friends and have been together for 3.5 years now

if you do have to rehome someone, the girl will be much easier to find a good home for and your drakes will do better with no girls around

Sexed ducks can be ordered.. if you do want to get her more friends (and are int he US)..

It's a lot easier to rehome a single hen than 2 or 3 drakes.

Right now that’s kind of how it’s going the two Perkins male and female stick together and the two young drake Cayugas stick together . at night I separate the two pairs so no fighting can take place . The Cayugas are still young and at this point don’t seem interested in mating so no problems yet the Pekin male definitely keeps them away from the female but I’m nervous as they mature that I’m going to have major problems . I think my female would be heartbroken to be away from the male Pekin but I know how violent duck mating and fighting can be .

I had 2 females and 1 male at the beginning of the year and hatched 2 eggs both turned out to be male. I have to separate the 2 groups at all times. The girls do not like the new boys at all honk and run/fly away when they break loose and their male is not near. Even run to me to pick them up for safety. They try to gang mate the smaller female every chance they get. So I would try to rehome the new boys or be prepared to divide the run or outdoor area. I keep my boys with the chickens and let the 3 amigos have their own pen. It works for me, but it can get really tiresome keeping everyone apart and trying to shoo away one of the males as I pen different groups.
