Today I took my 3 week 3 day old buff silkie chicks out on the grass. I have 4 of them. Well, I was watching them when all of a sudden, after my other roosters crowed, one of the silkie chicks stands up straight and lets out a little crow. Does that mean he is a rooster? I marked his leg with a band so I will see if he is a roo when he grows up. I compared the combs and 2 have a larger comb and 2 have a smaller comb. So im hoping that means 2 roosters and 2 hens. 2 pairs would be great!

Here are some pics of them:
They hatched on Sept. 6th. All but 1 had pipped the shell. The next morning there was no progress, so I had to help everyone out. The one that didnt pip the shell had a huge vault, so surely they would have died.

Very nice quality buffs. I had a black silkie do that at that age and yes he was a Roo. He scared the other chicks everytime he crowed.
