My babies are 3 weeks old now.
Brooder is outside but stays between 70-80.
They already go up and down the ramp.
It has been 60 out so I let them out for a while but they don't always want to go back in.
Yesterday they went up the ramp..ate and took a nap before coming back out.

Today it was 60 and rainy....
They show no signs of being cold.

Q: How long can I leave them out? as long as they like?
Thank you all for your great advice.

    The Coop :)
after about 3 days they should put themselvs away at night. and they will be fine in 60 degree weather. just make sure they are cooped up at night [IMG] good luck to you and your chickies!

I've also this weekend started to let my 3 week olds go out in the run. They run back and forth back into the coop to drink, although I have a waterer outside for them too, and sometimes they stay a bit under the lamp but then come back out. After about 2 hours their collective mind decides it is enough and they all go back in, fuss over who gets to sleep where and they plop down under the lamp. At which point I close the popdoor. But it is basically they who decide when it is enough.

As of next weekend I'm going to leave the popdoor open during the day, and I'm going to install roosts so that they can go roost to sleep if they so prefer.
