3 WKS OLD STARTED "PURRING", HEN OR ROO?

One or both of my 3 week old chicks have occasionally started making a sound I would describe as purring (we don't have any cats). It is more common that they do it at night time. Is this something only hens or roosters do, or do they both do it?

As far as I know both sexes do it. It's cute, isn't it?
