I had a chick hatch on day 23, and it's been super wobbly. It's not straddle legged, or curled toes, but it seems like it can not keep it's balance and keeps falling backwards (not to the sides). I gave him a little sugar water, but I'm not sure what else to do... This is my first time hatching and it went very horribly wrong. Can anyone help?
Sorry, I'm no expert, but maybe the links in this search may help, pending advice from the pros - https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=neurological+diseases+in+chicks
Do you have any Poultry Nutri-drench on hand? You can get it at most feed stores. I've seen it at Walmart, too. Also pick up some Vitamin B complex. Or just vitamin 2 if you can find it. Dissolve the vitamin B into liquid and dose this chick a couple times a day. Also do the Nutri-drench. Sometimes it's merely a vitamin deficiency and this should set it right.
