4 1/2 month old Blue Orpington Gender question

Hi got these 2 from a hatchery at the same time so they are both 4 1/2 months old. They look completely different and was wondering if the one might be a rooster?

The first is DEFINITELY a cockerel. The second is a pullet.

Yup the first one is a cockerel. The second one is a pullet though.

Males are usually pretty nice once out of their hormonal stage, I mean, there are definitely aggressive roosters out there, but they really don't tend to be as common as people make out.

And orpingtons tend to be a more docile breed. Best of luck.

Generally speaking, orpingtons are very sweet, especially when frequently handled. If your guy is a sweetheart now, he will more than likely be a sweetheart as he matures.

Thats good to know. Roosters make me nervous but as long as he's friendly I would love to keep him
