So my two silkies, Friz and Porg, are four months (at a guess) old now, and still no guess on their gender. I'm keeping them either way, but I would like to know your thoughts? I think both may be pullets, otherwise my OEGB rooster Gary, would have attempted to fight with them by now(he's aggressive to other roosters/cockerels). No signs of crowing, spurs are just tiny bumps, barely noticeable. Friz has very large wattles, which leads me to suspect rooster, but about a month ago there was a thread where someone wanted to know the gender of their silkie with large wattles, everyone guesses cockerel, but the bird layed an egg! So, I'm stumped, hopefully someone will know, I love silkies, but I wish they were easier to sex!
Porg is the white one, Friz is the partridge one.

Sorry for the photo spam-

But, just for cuteness, a pic of them when they were babies(And then I spent $60 dollars getting coccidiosis treatment from the vet for them, thank goodness they made it)
Baby Friz, and baby Porg, who refused to stay still:

Those ARE some large wattles on Friz but I have to say they both look like pullets. Silkies can be very tricky and four months is still quite young for male pattern feathers to develop so time will tell, but I say girls. They are both such cuties. :love

Thanks! I (and my Mom) were hoping for a male female pair, so I guess now we'll have to track down a rooster. My Mom also wants a couple of Frizzle hens so we can breed some frizzle silkies!
I wonder why Friz has such large wattles? I'm a complete newbie to the silkie breed, but love mine so much!
thanks all for the help :)
