Hi ya’ll! Just short of a month ago we got three blue bantam cochins and three blue silkies. Right now im curious if anyone has any early guesses as to sex? two are showing some pink/ red in the comb as of today, but the darkest one which feathered the quickest has two red lines under its chin where wattles seem to be coming in. They aren’t protruding yet and can only be seen from looking under the chin. The splash which is mostly white has always been the biggest, and has one funky wing of feathers. It’s very skittish, has the biggest comb, but zero roo behavior and no wattle growth, but some blushing when stressed. It’s comb does blush a bit when I hold it because it dislikes being held. The blue/silver one was a feisty little thing and is feathering in the slowest, but has the least feet feathering. No pink in comb or wattle growth but a very pointy comb compared to the other two and the last few days has mellowed a lot into a sweet thing that likes to perch on me.

I would love to hear your guesses! I’m worried we have at least two Roos but any chance the lighter blue/silver is still a pullet?

Please ignore the chaos I’m finishing the chicken tractor and well…. It’s chaotic 🤣

Usually by 5 weeks you can see the differences. The males will start to get red at that age. Give them another week or two.
Thank you! We live in an urban area and aren’t supposed to have Roos. I’m in love with the splash despite it’s distaste of me, and the little blue/silver one is my new lil’ buddy. Do you think the darkest one will wind up all black or more a dark silver or dark splash? It has some mottling on its feet that I’m sure will molt out

by "darkest one" do you mean the blue one?

The first one with more feathers is the one I’m wondering if it’ll be black or just dark blue/splash. It has some white polka dots on the feet feathering
