4 week old chick...crushed or something else?

i have a 4 week old chick who lives outside with 6 other 4 week olds and 4 x 8 week old chicks.
today i found the little chick on his back squarking very loudly. when i picked him up his head flops backwards and he has no sense of balance (cannot stand/sit right without support, his head flips back then his whole body goes. he's squeeking away with frustration trying to right himself but its not working. could he have been squished or trodden on b one of the older chickens...could it be a neck injury??

Lots of possibilities, injuries, Marek's or another disease, something congenital, etc.

i'm guessing Mereks. I've lost 2 in the past month to the same symptoms.

He's a bit young for mareks. I'd put all the chicks on a vitamin supplement. It sounds more like a bad case of limber neck or crook neck. In his case I'd trickle some vitamins into his beak to try and get him started. If he can't eat or drink he's going to have problems.

found the little chick dead this morning so think it was an injury rather than anything else. thanks for the replies/
