    2MooreChicks Chillin' With My Peeps

I have 4 month-old chicks of different breeds from the same breeder. A few days ago, my Wyandotte developed a "gooey" eye, which I cleaned with a wet cotton ball. The next day both her eyes were gooey to the point of being "glued" shut. I expected her to either pass away or get better, but she has done neither. She eats and drinks, but not as much as the other chicks. She isn't as active as the others, but she puts up a fight when I pick her up to de-goo her eyes. I've been using an eye dropper and saline solution to keep her eyes mostly open and clean. I read that you can put polysporin or other antibiotic ointment on the eye, but I've never heard that before and I'm skeptical. I feel like this will either kill her or blind her. Anyone have experience using human antibiotic cream on chicken eyes?
