I recently got a lavender Orpington along with a black copper Maran and 3 ISA browns. Curious about gender of my little lavender orp. Developed tail feathers super early like my sexed Isa browns, but she/he has a developed comb, no wattles yet. It doesn’t act like a rooster, it is the kindest most docile of all my chicks and loves to snuggle.

Might be a little too early to tell, but I'm guessing pullet :) Update some new pictures around 6-7 weeks for comparison, it should be more obvious then.

Yeah, being the sweetest chick is acting like a cockerel. Cockerels are usually the sweetest most cuddly chicks. You just have to make sure not to cuddle them because that can create mean roosters.

I'm not sure if yours is a cockerel though. May have to wait a little longer.orpingtons take a bit to mature.

Updated pics at 10 weeks old now
