    Hello,

i'm new here and am really hoping that someone can help me out with the gender of my 3 chicks. they are about 4 and a half weeks old - I have no idea what breed they are sorry. i think they are boys, especially the black one. The white one I'm not so sure about. I'm hoping that they are not boys!

    Thanks.

I'm guessing that the black one is a cokerel and that the white and partridge are pullets.

oh, that is so exciting!![IMG] I was having a hard time resigning myself to having to 'get rid of them'.
The black one is only just starting to get a tail. The brown one has no tail at all yet.

Just keep in mind... Give each of them enough time to mature, so that you know 100% for sure [IMG]

Black and Partridge chicks are roos and the white chick is a hen.

They all have a lot of red in their combs and wattle for that age. I'd say roos, but only time will tell.

My thoughts exactly katy, I say roos too, pullets wouldn't be red at all in the waddles or combs at that age

I think the partridge and the black ones are definitely cockerels - way too much color in the combs & wattle growth for only 4 weeks old. I'm not sure on the white one - can't see the comb well enough.
