We put up shade cloth in strategic areas around the coop, and then went out and bought a mister at our local big box store. The chickens LOVE the mister. They go under it and spread their wings and give a good shake and then off to bug hunt. We also put out ice in water pans but with 104F temps the ice melted in no time at all. Someone suggested filling soda bottles with water and putting them in our freezer and using them in the pans, once they defrost pop them into a zip lock (to keep freezer clean) and back into the freezer. I'm trying that out tomorrow.
