4th of July Photo Shoot & Trivia Game (Ends July 4th)

We had the "TV cart" to watch it live since I grew up in AZ and no way was I ever going to get to see one live. I was in 6th grade. After it happened, all the teachers who had kids watching kicked them out into the playground and kinda huddled up. Every now and then one would scurry off toward the office.and come back, then they'd talk more. They were visible upset and shaken. We stayed outside most of the day, the teachers would pull their classes together and talk about what happened and how it was some kind of accident, and no, no one put a bomb on the shuttle. etc, etc... Then they'd turn us loose again.

We all went to one friend's house after school. The parents all came over there to get us after they got off work. We didn't talk a whole lot that day, just watched the news as much as we could trying to process it.

That Smoking "Y" in the sky is an image I will never forget.
I'll not forget it either.
