Meet Storm, this is my daughters chick. Storm is about 4 weeks old. It was love at first sight for both the chick and my daughter. If I wasn't there to see the immediate bond that they had I wouldn't have believed it. The chick literally picked her out and stared at her, following her around her little cage, and when she couldn't see my daughter she would chirp louder than the other 80 chicks there. (We tested this out a couple times to make sure we weren't seeing things) Anyways, I noticed today when I was putting Storm and our other chick to bed, that s/he was developing waddles and they were red... I know that Silver Laced Wyandottes have a rose comb and depending on how upset Storm gets being handled her/his comb can become a little pink, but the little red wattle line (development) is worrying me.

Is it too early to guess if it's a pullet or a roo? We are not allowed to keep roo's where we live and I would hate for her to get even more attached if we are going to have to give Storm away. I know that there is not an exact science behind this until I see and egg but I was hoping for an educated/experienced guess from anyone who might have experience with SLW.

Thanks for all your help, I'm hoping and praying for a pullet for my daughters sake, but if it's a roo we will start looking for a great home for him.
