i said in my peacock post time before last that i updated my husband wanted more chickens. well we did it! we got five red stars! i get to take care of them, my husband if works offshore and he is gone right now. i pray he is safe though, they will probably send him in in the next two days depending on this hurricane and what it does.
well i just wanted to share our addiction with you guys. i should have never asked him to go see what the feed store had as far as baby chicks! [IMG] [IMG]

(edited: that is one of the peacocks in the back ground, no one would cooperate for a pic this morning!)

  2. I love redstars. I have 3 and they are the sweetest chickens, enjoy your babies.

oh thank you everyone. they sure are active right now! i don't know how it will work out when winter gets here is when they will about old enough to lay eggs. although we don't get really cold winters. i know we plan on putting a light in the coop with them too.

Wendy, they look about the age of mine? Mine will be three weeks old this Thurs. They are part lt.brahma and red star and some are lt brahma/black australorp. My hen took some of the red star's eggs as her own! [IMG]
