What breeds have 5 toes? I know of silkies, what are the others?
Dorkins have 5 toes.
Silkies, sultans, houdans, dorkings, there might be one more, but not sure.
No bird has more than four toes except chickens of the Dorking, Faverolle, Houdan, Sultan, and Non-bearded Silkie Bantams, all of which have five toes.
And I think Favorolles!!
I also have heard from a friend of mine that anything crossed with a Dorking, the resulting offspring will have 5 toes. So I am 'guessing' it is a dominant trait.
Gah, I forgot faverolles, we have them. Hooligan, in your quote it says non bearded silkies, well all silkies have 5 toes.
When any 5 toed bird crossed to any other, the 5 toes tend to be dominant.
