My littlest chick, Fanny, had some dirt packed in a crevise underneath her eye yesterday. At first, I could not tell what the heck it was for the life of me, so put some eye ointment on it to soften it up. So a little while later, I brought her in the house as she screamed for her sisters,(I felt so bad). I put her up on the counter and put on my glasses to have a closer look. I stroked her underneath her chin, and low and behold, she sank down onto the counter and started to coo. So I got out the q tips and gently rubbed off the caked- in dirt next to her eye. She lowered her head and brought up her eyelid so I could get at it better. After she was all cleaned up, she opened her eye and looked at me, as if to say, "Are you done?" So I brought her back out to the coop, and she ran as fast as she could to her spaghetti treat. Jeez, my kids aren't even that good!!!
