I am going to a breeders in a few days and wanted to get more easter eggers. She informed us that they are 5 weeks old but aren't sexed. Our city ordinances don't allow for roosters, so is there a way to ID hens/roosters at that age for that breed?

EE's are some of the hardest to sex, as they are basically mutts. Guess I'd choose the ones with the smallest and palest combs, and hope.

AT 5 weeks, look for chicks with their head feathers in and not white/splotchy and almost invisible single-looking combs. That should be closer to 75% than 50%

If you really want to be fairly sure, wait 2 more weeks.
