I know...too early to tell. I thought I ask anyway.

    They're a little over 5 weeks old. 2 blacks and 2 splash(?).

Here are the 1st 3. No pink yet in wattles or comb. Still smallish combs.

This is #4 - pinkish wattles but comb is pale. And look closely at the feathers. See the reddish lacing? What's up with that?

    Thank you!

I'm thinking blacks are boys and both whites are girls. I'd love to see pics of the bottom white one when she matures. You're right, what's with the blush color? How cool would that look?

Bummer, my fave is one of the blacks. Of course I should have known because s/he is a monster bird and we call him/her Moose.

I'l lwait a couple of weeks and try to get some body shots. They're so fast; all I get is blurr.
    Thank you...

I have standard cochins and was supposed to get all females. But we ended up getting a male. The first two are the chickens at about 6 weeks, and the last two are some I just took yesterday at about 3 months. Hope this helps!

Quote:Quite a bit of pink in the little feller's comb. Maybe there's hope for Moose. Thanks for the pics. I'm hoping that what I hear about cochin roos is true, that they are quieter than the hens.

From what I have observed they are quieter. My rooster just started crowing last week, but it isn't too loud. Other than that he doesn't make too much noise. The hens cluck and make more noise than him. They are my first chickens and they are wonderful so far. [IMG]
