5 wk old chick swallowed a chunk of plastic!!!!

Help!!!! I moved all my chicks outside today and I was stood watching them enjoy themselves, when to my horror my Cuckoo Maran boy scratched up a sharp piece of plastic (about a centimetre), and before I could get to him, he swallowed it!!! What should I do? Leave it and see, or take him to the vet? I thought I'd removed all the dangerous stuff. Kicking myself now

It should pass right through. They eat a lot of things they shouldn't when we aren't watching.
I was processing some meat birds with my dad when I was a kid. Part of my job was cleaning the gizzards. One had a big piece of glass that had cut through the inner wall of the gizzard but even that didn't affect its health. Probably would have in the long run.
Since that time, I've never seen anything stuck in there again.

Yeah, most of the trash chickens managed to scarf down passes right through. I had a hen peel the bandaid off my leg and swallow it, and next day the shriveled plastic was in her poop, minus the pad part which got digested.
