6 mo. hamburg laying 4 days after mate died-Are they fertile?

    Or was the roo too young? They mostly free-ranged and I had never seen them mate. The roo was eaten by a hawk 4 days ago.

    They were both 6 months old and all I managed to hatch from 8 ebay eggs.

    From the info I've picked up on the forum, a hen will be fertile from one successful mating for 2-3 wks after that mating. So, yes, your eggs should be fertile as far as I know. [​IMG]

    Well, I guess I will pull the old LG incubator out of the attic.

    I do need to get a new hygrometer though. I washed the last one in a pair of jeans. LOL:lol:
