I have three white leghorns 6 months old. About three weeks ago, I found a nest of 18 eggs in the back 40 in my yard. I wasn’t getting eggs from all the girls yet (only 2 per day for the last 4-6 weeks in the hutch always) but usually got two in the hutch each day so I wasn’t sure who was laying what eggs. But after careful watching, one white leghorn is either not laying at all, or is hiding it and didn’t want to lay while we were watching. Is this normal at six months to have one that doesn’t lay at all? Thanks!

Might be time for some exams:

Then maybe...
Free range birds sometimes need to be 'trained'(or re-trained) to lay in the coop nests, especially new layers. Leaving them locked in the coop for a week or so can help 'home' them to lay in the coop nests. Fake eggs/golf balls in the nests can help 'show' them were to lay. They can be confined to coop and maybe run 24/7 for a few days to a week, provided you have adequate space and ventilation, or confine them at least until mid to late afternoon. You help them create a new habit and they will usually stick with it. ..at least for a good while, then repeat as necessary.
