6 week old chicks eating corn cob and bugs? OK???

Well, my chicks are outside in their coop with a dog kennel to sleep in (and heat lamp). Yesterday, my dd was hunting worms for them and THEY GOBBLED

them up. We had some corn on the cob for dinner and we took the lefy over out to them, and they, at first, were a bit not sure. I put the cob in with them for the night and by this am it was pecked clean. I hope I'm not doing anything wrong giving them new foods??

I dont think bugs are bad as that is protein and the mom would give them that in the wild when they first come out right? but corn I dont know about sorry
