I was a nervous chick-mom but it was time for my three 6.5 week old EE to spend the night in their little coop. When they are big enough to hang with our 1 year old hens, they will go to that coop. They did fine! I was wishing I had a baby monitor :)

Here is a picture of one (Jan) I was wondering if she could be a roo with her coloring. Nothing else indicates that other than her shoulder coloring. She is the only one with a dark head. Any thoughts??

I'm not seeing any indication of cockerel coloring/pattern there - the shoulder coloring you see in gender discussions is a patchy, brick-red color, which I am not seeing on this chick at this point. That is not to say it isn't a cockerel, but at this time there is nothing about it pointing to that in this photo - can you get a clear comb shot?

This is her last week.
