Hi All,

I have 13 six week old poults and they've just recently been moved outside in the chicken tractor (but no chickens in there). It was getting so hot in the barn during the day and they were just miserable. Most of them are doing really well, but a few of them are looking unthrifty. They just kinda stand there with their eyes closed and their head droopy (but not to the ground, it's just closer to their body). These unthrifty ones will walk around ,but they dont' run around like the others.

I'm thinking it could be 2 things, but I wanted to get other opinions and treatment ideas. First, I wondered if it could be the beginnings of blackhead. I lost 2 half grown turkeys last year to what I assumed was blackhead. They would stand there looking pitiful just like these poults are doing. But does blackhead cause problems this early?

Second, I'm wondering if the dew on the grass is making them chilled in the mornings? The majority of the birds seem fine, it's just 1 or 2 that aren't thriving.

Any ideas?
