hi im new to the breed of silkies and just bought 2 but dont know what sex they r could anyone give me advice on how t do this as iv been told that hens tail feathers grow first,,,,,,,

no-one knows. You'll have to wait until about6 months of age. Silkies are extremely difficult to sex at a young age try the "sexing silkies" thread on here. You'll find more info there.
