Hey all! I have a pretty solid thought as to whether or not these babies are Roos or hens, but I’d love some experienced opinions. I can’t keep any Roos, so I’m hoping to rehome the beautiful boys as soon as possible. So what’s every ones opinions? Roos or hens? They are 7-8 weeks old Silver Laced Wyandotte’s.

I got 3 blue laces red Wyandotte bantam unsexed chicks from Ideal Poultry. They hatched on April 28 and are now 8 weeks old. They have been extremely slow feathering and the runt is still almost bald, just has feathers on head, back of neck and tip of wings, so looks like a growth stunted, tiny plucked chicken. The 2 brothers are at least 3 times larger and heavier than the runt, which is the size of a 3 or 4 week old chick. I think all 3 are cockerels because of their very red and obvious wattle, but I could be wrong, so would like confirmation of their sex as male. If they are roos I will need to find them a new home. Even if one of them is female I might still rehome it because they are the most skittish and hardest to catch and handle of all the chicks. I'm giving the runt and a crossed beak black Silkie (also from Ideal Poultry) away for free to a good home.

Chick #1 - cockerel? Top of Crest is shaped like an upside down U. Has small tail.

Chick #2 - cockerel or pullet? Not sure of the top of crest's shape, if it looks more like an upside down U or V. It has a small protruding point at the top, like one of my full size Wyandotte hens have. Has a small tail.

Chick #3 - the runt - cockerel or pullet? Looks like the top of the crest is shaped like an upside down V, so could be a female. Skin near bum looking reddish, so could be he/she ia getting pecked by the other bantam chicks which are all bigger than him/her. Free to a good home.
