7 month old cochin roo molting hackles????

Hi all,

Our infamous rooster is loosing his neck feathers on the back of his neck. Is he molting??? I have seen no evidence of lice or mites. He is a white standard cochin--truly magnificent!

Otherwise, he is a very happy roo...even tempered, kind to all in his domain! There are 12 hens.

I don't know a lot about cochins. I only have one. but I have noticed that they seem to take forever to grow feathers!
