Hatched 3/21, so 7.5 weeks, very slow to feather. S/he was practically a naked neck for a couple weeks . No comb at all, just a flat gray space, until this week. I was relieved, but now it’s suddenly pinkish...I have heard ameraucanas are late bloomers? Ziggy here is a boy isn’t he?

Yeah it’s hard because the coloring is all gray for both sexes. I have had 4 EEs, all pullets. All had no pink whatsoever until right before or even after they laid.

Behavior wise, this chick really likes to wing flap but is otherwise friendly and extremely bonded to the only other chick that hatched with it (a CCL pullet). To the point where if I take the other chick out, this chick will cry and cry. Poor sad baby.

I’m still on the fence...any new votes?
