    Hi everyone,

Could you help in sexing my orpington chicks please. I'm a tad worried the black one is a roo, he has no comb to speak of though. [IMG]

It's it three birds in question? If so the splash is your only cockerel I think. The feathers say pullet but that's a lot of red for 7 weeks.

The splash (or lavender?) looks like your only possible roo atm. But that could change. I'd wait til about 12 weeks to try again. Hopefully the hackle and saddle feathers will show up if one is indeed a roo.

This bird looks like your only possible cockerel to me.

I can't get over how red he is. None of my BBS Orp cockerels are that red and they're 12 weeks old today. Looking back, at 7 weeks my boys had MUCH larger combs and nowhere near that many feathers. It's just fascinating how the different lines develop.

The splash is definitely a cockerel, blue is a pullet...black is unsure. The comb looks like pullet, but the tail is a tad suspicious. Going with 1 cockerel, 2 pullets for now.

Hmm I'm unsure what to do, I'm not allowed to keep roosters, the place I bought them from said they would change them if any turned out to be roos. But I'd hate to change of it turns out to be a pullet
