I have a 7 wk cross, Delaware roo over Golden Laced Wyandotte hen. I was thinking cockerel, but am holding out a little hope that it’s a female. Do I need to give up my hope? The first three pics are at 7 weeks, and the last one was taken a couple weeks ago at week 5–the comb hasn’t gotten much bigger from this time, but is now getting more color. Thank you!

Agreed... plus on the last pic, see that little tiny hint of orange color.

Good golly, I like chicks that show gender young. :love

Wyandotte are quite tasty birds. That cross should work well for freezer camp. :drool

I know Wyandotte and Delaware can be used in sex link crosses identifiable at hatch... but not sure if that's with each other or not.

Thank you! My mind kept telling me cockerel, but I was holding out hope for a pullet! The other two cockerels from this hatch are already red and attempting to crow. I think they will all be headed to the freezer after their grow out time.
