7th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2016 Hatch-A-Long

Like from beermaking?

Yes he's a Brewer here in town and calls me when he's brewing. Stop by after work and pick it up. Still hot. I have competition though the pig farmer can sometimes beat me too it. Usually has 3-4 55 gallons barrels full of it. I don't have to worry about the sheep lady any more as far as competition as she fed too much and lost her sheep. Sad really.

We give that to cows too.

Some people look down on it.

Fermented foods are very good for digestive systems.

The chickens wont stay out of it on the farm!

), maybe I'll just get some orpington hens for him, but I REALLY wanted chocolate cream legbars.

I love my still air one..I have some eggs in there right now, and I will also put them into lock down in it..and, I have some in a 1588 right now, will put those in the still air for lock down.
Have to remember, tweeking that knob is all it takes..for that temp to change!   And, You want the room temp to be pretty stable too, but you want that with any bator.

The new digital controlled 9300 are terrible.

The deer munch on it as well especially if I forget to cover it. At the point I get it it's not fermented. Left stand long enough it will. I usually put vinegar in it in the summer. The brewery tells me they go out of their way to get all the sugar out and leave the protein. Protein in beer is not good. Protein for chickens obviously good. So I told him it was nice of him to go out of his way to leave the protein for me. Also the extra fiber in the coop is acting as a deep bedding for chickens. Can't feed too much or it bothers them.
