Hey there. I have 8 muscovys. 4 females and 4 drakes. Gimpy, she was malpositioned and we found a vet to do the surgery to fix her leg. She had her surgery today and has to spend the night at the animal hospital. Now 1 of my other females is missing. She was in the yard at dinner time and then when I went out back to say goodnight at 9 she is the only one gone. They always sleep in my yard, always have. I’m worried she went looking for her sister or something. Has anyone else dealt with anything like this?

Are they in a secure pen?
No they free roam my backyard and venture to the lake sometimes during the day but usually with another duck never at night. And during the day they all are in the yard, patio with gimpy who is at the vet overnight. They all sleep in my yard. I live in a suburban neighborhood on a lake in Florida.

They are just four months old. I don’t really have any predators in the area. They have been living outside for the last two months. Unless she flew into a neighbors yard with a dog but that’s never been an issue I’m really wondering if she left because she is looking for her sister or idk she usually is in the yard when it’s bedtime :/

There are predators everywhere.
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!
