    I got the brooder on ebay. My dh is very handy but has another project he's really into right now and asked to stay free to do that instead of build me chicken stuff - lol.

    So it was hand-made, just not by us. The light has a dimmer function that I love because it really lets me fine-tune the heat. I had to cat-proof it though, with a few extra latches here and there.
