With that much red at 8 weeks, I'm 99% sure he's a boy. Sorry. [IMG]

My Cochin is red too, but I'm positive I have a female. The comb is still small on your chick. I guess you'll find out soon enough. Good luck!

I'm betting on a male. Pretty splash boy, though.

My Cochin's are all 7 weeks old and the Roo's comb is similar in color and size to this one. The other three, I am assuming are hens as they have no color in the comb at all yet, and mostly the comb is not visible. Sorry.

That was my fear! I had a pretty bad feeling about them (I have more cochins to ask about, but they honestly look rather similar, comb wise.) Too bad [IMG] I have TONS of males this year. TONS [IMG] [IMG]

Quote:I think it's something in the water. 4 of my 6 cochins are boys, I'm pretty sure 1 of my 2 silkies is a boy, and I'm pretty sure I have a couple roos in my batch of 7 sexed pullets...the only one's I'm positive are girls are my two sex-links [IMG]
