Got 12 quails today [IMG] 3 boys and 9 girls. Put them in the big cage hubby built for the cockatiel - 5ft x 4ft x 8ft - on a sand bottom and they only stopped bathing in the sand when it got too dark for them to see.

    Awwww, they are so cute!

And have already laid 2 eggs, such good birds [IMG]

Quote:Dont they just? They kept digging themselves in and swooshing it up and over. Looked such fun I might even stop yelling at the kids when they do the same thing in the sand box [IMG]

What does one do with the egg shower? Dinky little fried eggs?

    MAKE MORE QUAIL.....

Had every intention of eating the first weeks eggs and then setting the next weeks eggs but the sight of today's 5 eggs sitting on the table tipped me over the edge. They are now sitting in the drawer waiting for the next few days worth to join them in breaking in a virgin incubator.

I have no self control [IMG]

At least I have 8 eggs in the fridge to taste test [IMG]
