Today was a glorious day. My wife gave birth to a handsome baby boy on Friday and we came home from the hospital today. I instructed the older boys to retrieve the eggs from the coop as it had been a couple days. When they went out one of the girls was missing. They found her outside tucked into a corner. Her hind end was bloody and a lot of feather and skin were missing. I could see raw flesh as well and puncture wounds. I put her in the coop to see what she would do and she could hardly stand up let alone walk. I could tell she was suffering so I and being unable to walk I was left with only one choice. Kind of sad but at least my new son is happy, healthy and home.

I'm so glad your new son is happy, healthy and at home. Give my congratulations to Mom also. I'm so sorry about your hen. [IMG][IMG] You did what was best for her the poor dear.

God bless you and your family and take care of each other!
