My mom's veterinarian reference books easily cost double or triple 45 bucks, for a comparison, it's not unheard of for a reference manual to cost that much. Her poultry reference for non poultry vets cost around 100$ and the vet clinic bought that for their reference library.
I have lots of expensive books, and understand school a d reference books are expensive.

My brother has written a couple. I ain’t buying his either.

You wanted to visit the ranch... Well know that it's still unpopulated, still fewer than 500 folks in the county, and nobody bothers caring about covid because everyone already isolates most of the time out there anyways without a quarantine so there's that. It will be a vacation from lunacy!
