The chickens celebrated getting another layer of pine straw in the run with a feast of shriveled sweet corn.

Mmmm! Corn!

Noodle wonders if we might have dropped a sowbug into the feeder.

Kiev goes straight to the corn.

Plenty of corn for everyone!

Rosemary, Noodle, and Dumpling guard their ear while little Nugget decides on a strategy.

Rosemary, the crown princess, allows Kiev, Barbie, Sesame, and one of the Big Red Boys to have some corn while she enjoys a worm from the leaf pile.

I still need to get rid of these red rascals.

Fluffy, fresh pine straw!

Don't walk in front of me, Vinnie. I'm posing.

Hey, she raised the feeder again!

Sorry about the blurs. I'm not that good a photographer and these young chickens are FAST.

My chickens are spoiled rotten.

I work at a farm stand and shriveled sweet corn that isn't fit to sell even on discount is a regular part of their diet. The husks look messy in the run, but seem to do a nice job as bedding when mixed with the pine straw.
