Erohs (Hopefully next year he'll get his train..his is so pathetic right now--2 eye feathers!) and the supposed BS midnight hens

Half of Jade, Erohs, Zeus and the three BS Midnight hens in the background. Zeus is supposed to be a BS midnight.

    nice.

The beam holding your net up... I use red folgers coffee cans on the top of the beam.
They are plastic and hold very well.....to protect the net.

Thanks Guys! I am very happy with the birds we've purchased. Since we added the adult breeding quad in the fall, we are hoping to have some chicks born this year. I'll most likely just see if the hens will go broody and brood their own clutches this year as a trial. Also hoping next season to produce a white from Erohs and Jade (Blue Pieds)

I never thought to use coffee cans. We just took those small blow-up plastic balls kids play with and cut a hole in them, slipped it over the posts to try and protect the netting. We'll have to give the cans a try next time.

Try incubating first few eggs , then let the peahen set the 2nd or 3rd clutch that way better odds you will raise some chicks......
