Has anyone built one of these recently? I just finished one and have a few questions or some final touches. =) Thanks!
Welcome Back @ChicksinBoise !

If you post a few pictures with your questions, I'm sure you will get some advice. Also add your general location to your profile. Knowing what kind of weather you have will help give the best answers.
Yes, please...pics..and info on your flock, would certainly help.

...and here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

Here is my chicken coop. I think the roost needs to be raised? I was also thinking of leaving the roost as is and dropping the best lower. Any thoughts?

I am in Killeen, Texas. (Near Austin). We have 6 laying hens and let them roam the back yard for about 4 hrs a day.

If they are in the nest box and not using the roost at night then I would say the roost needs to be higher in relation to the nest box. If it were me I wrong try and raise the roost bar, maybe just put a 2x4 on top. Just because that seems easier.

I don't see how you can raise the roost, it's tight up at the top. Are they using the roost right now without issue? How much headspace is there over the roost and from the roost to each wall?

The nest box can be dropped down a little perhaps but you still want enough clearance for them to be able to use the space underneath the box.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! =) I’m going to remove the nest and relocate it below.
