I have a week old chicks I ordered from McMurry's. The chick is a silver lace cochin. He has a growth on the side of his chest & his neck is wobbly. He is very sleepy, too. I am making sure it drinks & put chick food in front on him( he is laying most of the time) he is eating. He is still walking a little. What can/could it be????? He doesn't act like it is in pain. Thank you for your help!

A crop is used to store food. If it does not go away by morning, it may be impacted.

When they eat a lot, their crop gets full...it's the place they store food before it gets digested. When it's full, it looks like a lump on the side of their chest. In the morning before he eats, it should be much smaller.
