Hello guys,

My name is Baboucarr and i live in Gambia, West Africa...

I have loved birds since childhood and have recently decided to start a backyard poultry farm for me and my family.

I am having trouble getting supplies of good breeds of birds / hatching eggs...

All and any help will be greatly appreciated.

My research have led me to this site and it looks very promising.

I want order but do not know where to start.

Regards to all.

I'm sorry I cannot be of help. I don't think birds/eggs would survive a trip so far to you from the US. I believe there is a South African thread on BYC if that would help you out.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

I live in Kenya and face similar problems. Personally, I've opted to settle for whats here as the cost of importation of eggs and their viability by the time they reach you would be very expensive and disappointing.

Local chickens can be a bit useless (but make good broody hens) - there must be a source of commercial chickens up there? I'd try that for starters and see how you go.

Good luck
