I love the livers and hearts pan fried - yes they are small but make up for it in flavor - but the gizzards turn out crunchy (icky icky ick) so thought I would try them as fish bait.

    They work GREAT!

Nice and tough so the little p*ssant fish cant steal em off the hook and the flavor must be prime if your a pan fish as they go for it almost before it hits the water lol.

The gizzards were for turtle fishing but cant get the fish to leave em alone!

You actually pan fried those little things. Did ya precook the gizzards before frying them?
AH - you just don't like cleaning the bitty things, almost had me.

I like gizzards its the DH that's not to thrilled with um.

Quote:I really did clean them, they are easy enough to do, just split, wash and peal the yellow membrane off. They would have been fine thrown into the stock pot but fish bait brings the chance of another dinner instead of a just bite or two.

Looooooove the livers and hearts! Mmmmmmmmmmm yummy! Use to get them all to myself until the kids caught me eating them one day and now I have to share [IMG]
