A Plymouth Rock and a Buff Orpington

These seem like good breeds to add to my flock of 3 Rhode Island Reds. I've heard wonderful things about the Buffs but can anyone tell me about Plymouths? They seem like a nice breed to have for eggs and thats what I want them for.

My barred plymouth rocks are very friendly, and they lay brown and sometime speckled eggs.
