Not sure how to make a poll so this is going to be primitive. [IMG] I am working on an article and wanted some opinions.

Which is the closest to how you feel. Post the number at the top of your reply. Add any POLITE commentary you would like [IMG] If more than one applies, list both numbers in the order of their priority.

    1. I don't eat meat at all for health reasons
    2. I don't eat meat at all for political reasons*
    3. I don't eat meat at all for financial reasons
    4. I don't eat meat for religious reasons
    5. I want to eat less meat for health reasons
    6. I want to eat less meat for political reasons*
    7. I want to eat less meat for financial reasons
    8. I don't think there is anything unhealthy about meat and eat it every day
    9. I need to eat more meat for health reasons
    10. I only eat meat I can grow myself or get from trusted private sources
    11. Other. Please describe

    * i.e. opposition to factory farming practices.

BONUS ESSAY QUESTIONS (answer if you like [IMG])
    • Do you believe lean meat is healthier than non-lean meat?
    • If so, how did you come to believe this?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

8 (although I don't eat it every day) [IMG] I do get my meat from the grocery store and now moving to (10) getting it from the farmer direct.

Slowly improving our way of lives, one step at a time, and I'm hoping this year to get meat chickens as well.

    4. Although I think my reasons would be more moral or compassion than religious.
I base my choices on the level of the animal. Most animals are higher order and have thought processes and self-awareness; therefore, I believe it is immoral to kill them unless it is a necessity for survival, which it almost never is. I do choose to eat seafood (pescetarian) because I believe those are lower order animals that do not have the same self awareness and though processes as other higher order animals.
For those who do choose to eat me, I strongly believe the meat should be raised humanely and naturally and slaughtered as humanely as possible. In my opinion, t is immoral to cause pain or fear to any living creature when it is not necessary.
